What is an Archive?

Archives are collections of historical documents, objects, or records that focus on a specific place, group, institution, or theme.

American Jewish Historical Society (AJHS) is the oldest ethnic historical society in the Americas. It was founded in 1892 and its mission is to “foster awareness and appreciation of American Jewish history and to serve as a national scholarly resource for research through the collection, preservation and dissemination of materials relating to American Jewish history.”
