Shearith Israel (KKSI) 

Congregation Shearith Israel, currently located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, is the oldest Jewish Congregation in the United States, having been founded in 1654 by Jews from Dutch Brazil. Facing persecution under Dutch and later British rule, it was not until 1730 that the Congregation was allowed to construct a Synagogue.
