Zionist

A Zionist is an individual who adheres to Zionism: a movement and ideology centered around establishing and upholding a Jewish state in what is now Israel. It may also serve as an adjective denoting relation to Zionism, such as Zionist writing. Zionism gathered momentum in the 19th century, through a combination of Haskalah (Jewish Enlightenment) and Jewish response to mounting Antisemitism in central and eastern Europe.
